Institute for Humanities Research
IHR Fellows
Deadline: March 22, 2010
The IHR ASU Fellows program provides funding for two research teams to engage in a year of research related to the annual theme, share their research with the academic community (via lectures, a conference or symposium), and produce a strong application for a large external grant. Each ASU Fellows team may request up to $45,000.
The purpose of the 2010-11 Institute for Humanities Research Fellowship at Arizona State University is to engage humanities scholars from various disciplines in addressing and analyzing the role of the humanities in illuminating—and possibly enriching scientific inquiry into—human origins. One theme for the fellowship entails analysis of what it means to be human from a humanities perspective and what, if anything, comes closest to explaining human uniqueness. A second theme entails analysis of humans as the source of origins and as beings who value origins and originals.
Arizona State University-Mayo Clinic Arizona
Innovation Fund
Deadline: Rolling
Building on ASU's relationship with Mayo Clinic Arizona, the two organizations have made available $100,000 to support and encourage collaborative innovation. The Innovation Fund is specifically targeting the development of products and/or process reengineering aimed at improving patient care, enhancing care or administrative process efficiencies and effectiveness, and realizing the potential for commercialization beyond the two organizations. To be considered, projects must be proposed jointly by representatives from both organizations. There will be a rolling application process throughout the year until the initial $100,000 is fully deployed. The application form is provided in the link.

There is a limit of one TRIPS per fiscal year on a no-match basis; additional TRIPS will require at least a 50 percent match from college or department. For additional information see RSP 605-02 Travel of Research Investigators to Potential Sponsors.
Application due date: Typically two weeks in advance of trip.
